How we pick, and what we don't do
Last updated: 28 September 2026
We don't test products
Plenty of sites say "we tested 23 drying racks." We don't, and we won't pretend to. We never write "we tried it" or "in our kitchen," because we haven't. What we do is narrower, and we'd rather be honest about it.
We start from the problem
Every guide starts from a real annoyance in an Indian home, usually one people type into Google word for word: clothes that won't dry in the monsoon, a flat with no balcony, a cupboard that smells musty. We write down the fixes that cost nothing first. Often that's the whole answer.
When we do name a product
- It has to solve the problem the guide is about, not just sit next to it.
- It has to be sold on Amazon India, so delivery, cash on delivery and returns work the way you expect.
- We describe it from its listing: what the seller states about size, materials and features. We say so ("the listing says") rather than dressing it up as our own experience.
- We say who should skip it. Every pick carries a "who should skip it" note, because the right answer for many readers is to buy nothing.
- One pick per problem. We'd rather give you one clear option than a list of twenty.
What disqualifies a product
- It needs skills or tools most renters don't have, unless the guide says so up front.
- It only works if you buy the brand's other products too.
- Its listing makes claims we can't square with how the thing works.
Photos and prices
Some product images on this site are representative images we made, and they're labelled as such. The real listing photos are on Amazon. We don't show a price unless we can say exactly when we checked it. Whatever Amazon.in shows when you buy is the price that counts.
How we make money
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. If you buy through our links, Amazon pays us a small commission, and your price is the same. No brand pays us to be included, and the free fixes are on every guide whether or not you buy anything.
