Products By Nik & Aish ("we") runs this site, shop.nikhilpatil.in. It's a short shelf of home products we recommend, with links to buy them on Amazon.in. This page says what we collect, why, and how to get rid of it.

Visiting the site

You can read everything here without giving us anything. We count page visits and outbound clicks with our own counter. It uses no cookies and no third-party analytics or tracking scripts. So we can tell repeat visits apart within one day, our server keeps a short-lived anonymised id that changes every day. It can't be tied back to you, your device, or anything you do on other sites.

Joining the Price-Watch Club

If you fill in the club form, and only then, we store:

We use it for one thing: sending the emails you asked for. A heads-up when a product you're watching drops in price, and the weekly picks if you ticked that box. We don't sell, rent or share your address with advertisers, and we don't send you anything you didn't ask for.

Double opt-in. Signing up doesn't subscribe you. We email you a link first, and you only join when you click it. If you never click, your unconfirmed signup is deleted automatically after 14 days.

Leaving. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and the email stops right away. We keep a note that the address unsubscribed, so we don't mail you again by accident. If you'd rather we deleted the whole record, message us (below) and we will.

Staying signed in. When you click the link in our email, your browser saves a code we signed. It's what lets us show you your own watchlist and lets you watch the next thing in one tap, with no password. It is not your email address, it can't be edited into someone else's, and it only works for the club. Clear your browser data and it's gone. Ask us and we can cancel it, which signs out every device you've used.

Who else sees it

Nobody. We don't sell your details, we don't rent them, and we don't pass them to partners, advertisers or anyone running a contest we've entered. This site is entered in the Build with Gemini XPRIZE, and the only thing that goes there is a count (for example "N confirmed members"), never a name, an address or a watchlist. If that ever has to change, this page changes first and we ask you before anything of yours moves. The one thing that does go to another company is the ad-click message described under "Advertising and social platforms" below, and nothing from the club is ever part of it.

Affiliate links

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Product buttons here go to Amazon.in. Once you're on Amazon, Amazon's own privacy policy and cookies apply. Amazon sends us totals for purchases made through our links (which product, how much commission). They never tell us who bought. Joining the club is free and is never tied to buying anything.

Product images

Many of the product photos on this site are representative images: pictures we generated with AI, using the seller's Amazon listing photo as the reference for what the product looks like. They are meant to show you the product honestly in a real setting, but they are not photographs of the exact item in the box, and small details can differ. Wherever we show one, we say so on the page, and we repeat it in our posts on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube. The authoritative photos, colours and specifications are the ones on the Amazon listing. If anything on our page disagrees with Amazon, Amazon is right.

Advertising and social platforms

We promote our pages on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube. Those platforms set their own cookies and collect their own data under their own privacy policies while you're on them. Links from them to our site carry a plain source label (like ?src=ig) that tells us which platform a visit came from. It says nothing about you.

If you arrived from one of our paid ads on Facebook or Instagram, Meta adds its own click id (fbclid) to the link. If you then click through to Amazon from our page, our server tells Meta that the click happened. What we send is: that it happened, when, which page you were on, that click id, and your IP address and browser user agent. That's the whole list. We don't send your name, your email, or anything from the club, because we don't have any of it at that moment and we never attach it.

We do this so Meta can show the ads to people who actually want the product instead of people who just tap adverts. We don't store any of it. Your IP is read off the request, passed on, and dropped. Our own visit counter still keeps only the anonymised daily id described above.

If you didn't come from a paid ad, none of this happens. No click id means no message to Meta at all, so visitors from Instagram posts, shared links, search or a typed address are never reported. We have not installed the Meta Pixel or any other tracking script, and we are not going to.

Where your data lives

The site is hosted on Netlify, which may handle standard request data (IP addresses, for instance) to serve pages securely, per Netlify's privacy policy. Visit counts and club member records sit in Google Cloud (Firestore, Cloud Run). Club emails go out through Zoho ZeptoMail. Only we can get at any of it. The single exception is the ad-click message to Meta described above, which is sent and not stored.

Your choices & contact

If you haven't joined the club, we hold nothing personal about you at all. If you have, you can unsubscribe from any email, or ask us to show you what we hold or delete it. Message us on Instagram at @products.by.na, or just reply to any club email.

If this policy changes, the new version goes up on this page with a new date at the top.
